Environmental Sustainability Division Projects

Diverting Ventura's waste to useful purposes through recycling is one example of conserving our resources and enhancing our environment. The Environmental Sustainability Division oversees an array of projects and community-based programs including Stormwater Pollution Prevention, Household Hazardous Waste Collections, Electronic Waste Recycling, Used Motor Oil and Paint Recycling, Reuse and Source Reduction, Commercial Recycling and Composting. We are also responsible for administering the City's agreements with E.J. Harrison and Gold Coast Recycling and Transfer Agreements.   If we can assist you, please call us at 652-4525.

Every Day Is Earth Day In Ventura

Stewarding natural resources and doing our part to reduce our environmental impact is not a one day affair. It's a continuous way of life.

That's why the City of Ventura has dedicated not only one day to Earth Day, but every day.  We are committed to making all facets of our organization and community sustainable -- from the products we purchase, the policies we establish, the paper we print on, and the types of services we offer.  Will you join us?

HELP KEEP OUR COMMUNITY CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL!
Ventura's Mutt Mitt Program helps to keep our beautiful parks, beaches, public areas and ocean clean by providing degradable pet waste pick-up bags at dispensing stations throughout the City.   With over 10,000 licensed dogs in the City of Ventura, and one million people visiting our popular parks annually, there's definitely a need to encourage everyone to "Doo the Right Thing!"
