Ventura Community Park

Welcome to the Ventura Community Park Homepage

The Ventura Community Park opened its doors in October of 2005 to great fanfare. The park features various three large sports fields, a 1.4-mile paved trail and a state of the art aquatics facility with two 25-foot water slides, a recreation pool, competition pool and a water playground for children. This initial phase of construction only built out 25 of the parks 100 acres.

The second phase, opened in early 2009 includes two softball fields (one dedicated and one multi-use) and two regulation soccer fields. Additional parking, spectator seating, restrooms and lighted walkways were part of the project. As part of the City’s Green Initiative, the project was designed so that water will drain into bioswales, reducing storm water runoff. The new field lights use the latest green technology and can be turned on and off remotely through a web-based program.

Energy use and lighting efficiencies can be monitored through the same program. The sports field project was made possible by generous community donations through the Give Today-Play Forever campaign. Major gifts came from the Ventura Auto Dealers Association and Ventura Toyota. State Propositions 12 and 40 also contributed funding.

The fields may be reserved by calling 805-652-4594 during regular business hours.
