forms of transportation as directed by the Circulation Element, General
Bikeway Plan and Vision Plan. The City of Ventura Transportation Section

Community Development Department. In addition, staff manages existing programs
such as the dissemination of alternative transportation information and
safety programs to businesses and special interest groups.
Bicycle Programs support non-auto and auto
alternative improvements to Ventura's transportation system consistent with
policies of the Circulation Element, General Bikeway Plan and others.Ventura
updated its General Bikeway Plan on December 1999. A copy of the plan is
available by calling (805) 654-7769.
Biking can be a fun and healthy alternative to using your car for commuting
to work or running local errands around town. There are many references
available to help you get started. One excellent source of information

at any local or on-line book store or can be read on-line at http://www.bikexprt.com/streetsmarts/usa/index.htm
