On the above date and time units responded to a report of a surfer in distress. The victim, a female surfer in her 40’s was unable to return to shore due to large surf after being swept south approximately 2 miles by a strong long shore current. Units on shore were able to locate the victim and coordinate a rescue with Ventura County Fire Air squad and Ventura Harbor Patrol aboard a rescue watercraft.
The Victim was returned to shore by the rescue watercraft via the Ventura Harbor. The victim was uninjured.
