Water Main Break at Main and Donlon Streets
Ventura Water crews responded today at approximately 2 pm to a water main break on Main Street at Donlon Street, adjacent to Ventura Fire Station No. 5. West-bound Main Street and the 101 Freeway South-bound off-ramp to Telephone Street are closed at this time. Businesses north of Main Street between Telephone Street and Callens Street are without water service.
An 8-inch cast iron water pipe, installed in the 1960s, failed and crews are working to isolate the break and begin repairs. Customers in the area may experience brown water when first turning on the tap and should allow the water to run for a few minutes until the water is clear. Customers may also experience low pressure but the pressure should return to normal after the repairs are completed.
