Narrative:
On the above date and time, the Ventura Police Command Center received a call from an alert citizen who had just witnessed a suspicious suspect attempting to siphon gas from several parked vehicles in the carport area of the apartment complex located at 11150 Citrus Dr.
As responding officers arrived on scene they observed Simpson holding a large gas can and rubber hose attempting to siphon gas from a parked vehicle.
Officers identified themselves to Simpson and instructed him to stop. Simpson ignored the officer’s commands and attempted to flee. The officers gave chase and a short foot pursuit ensued.
Simpson was apprehended a short distance away and taken into custody without further incident. During the arrest there were no injuries sustained by Simpson or the officer’s.
Simpson was placed under arrest and later booked into the Ventura County Jail for the above charges.
