Narrative:
On February 5th 2012 at about 8:22 PM, the Ventura Police Command Center received numerous phone calls from terrified residents reporting several gunshots fired at the intersection of S. Saticoy Ave. and Si Se Puede.
A witness who was driving with his family at the intersection during the shooting saw a male subject standing inside the gates of Cabrillo Village firing a handgun at a pedestrian on the east curb of Saticoy Ave. The witness described the suspect as a male Hispanic about 20 years old wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
The victim fled the area prior to Officers arriving on scene and was last seen eastbound out of the neighborhood. The suspect was last seen running westbound into Cabrillo Village. VPD patrol Officers with the assistance of Ventura County Sheriffs Air Unit responded and searched the area however neither the suspect nor any victims or were located.
A resident in the 1600 block of Daphne Ave. found a bullet that had entered his residence via an upstairs window traveled across the room and lodged into the bedroom wall. From initial reports it appears no one was injured during this shooting, however the investigation is ongoing.
