Narrative:

On February 6th, 2012 at about 5:17 p.m.,, the Ventura Police Department (VPD) received a call of an injury traffic collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck in the area of Thompson Blvd. and Jordan Ave.  Patrol Officers responded to the scene and immediately summoned VPD Traffic investigators due to the level of injury at the scene of the collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed the following: The motorcyclist was identified as Stephanie Gonzalez 23 years old, traveling westbound on Thompson Blvd. the driver of the pickup truck, Douglas Paulin 57 years old, entered the roadway from Jordan Ave. and was clearing the eastbound lanes of traffic.  Paulin didn’t see Gonzalez’s motorcycle approaching from the east.  Paulin accelerated his vehicle northbound through the westbound lanes colliding with Gonzalez’s motorcycle launching her out of the roadway onto the sidewalk.  Neither party was found to be under the influence of alcohol.   

Gonzalez sustained serious injuries and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where she is currently being treated.
