On January 14, 2012, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Ventura Police Department’s Command Center received a call of a robbery at knifepoint in the area of 300 block of Main St.  Responding Officers located the victim Ronald Garcia unharmed near the intersection of Oak St and Poli St.

Garcia, the manager of ARC Thrift Store, stated the suspect was in the store, selected some items and fled the business with the stores property.  Garcia chased the suspect on foot around the surrounding streets in an attempt to recover the stolen merchandise.  During the chase the suspect fell to the ground tired on Oak St. near Poli St.  As Garcia attempted to get the store’s property back the suspect slashed violently at him with a knife he pulled from his waistband.  The suspect fled again this time jumping several fences into a nearby commercial area out of sight.

Responding officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  This investigation is ongoing, anyone with information is asked to contact the Ventura Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
