Narrative:
On the above date and time, VPD officers received information a stolen vehicle was parked in the area of Quail Street and Anthony Drive. Officers located the vehicle and confirmed it was in fact stolen from the City of Oxnard on July 28, 2010.
A short time later, Officers observed Tuitama enter the vehicle and drive away. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 2400 block of Woodpecker Drive. Tuitama fled on foot as officers gave chase. Tuitama manipulated several fences as he ran through rear yards of residences before eventually making his way onto Johnson Drive. Tuitama ran through heavy traffic as he crossed Johnson Drive.
Ultimately Officers were able to stop Tuitama near Johnson Drive and the railroad tracks. Tuitama refused to comply with officer’s orders and a violent struggle ensued. Officers deployed a Taser device to gain control of Tuitama. Once the Taser device was deployed, Tuitama submitted to the officers and was taken into custody. He was later booked into the Ventura County Jail on the above charges.
