Narrative:

On the above date and time, the Ventura Police Department’s Command Center started receiving numerous 911 calls from citizens reporting a multiple vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Victoria Ave. and Thille St. The first responding units arrived on scene within a minute of the calls and determine there were several injured parties ranging from moderate to minor injuries. The Ventura City Fire Department and AMR ambulance also responded to the scene.

Guzman was southbound Victoria Ave. when she collided with Lande who was westbound on Thille St. The impact of the collision between Guzman and Lande caused Lande’s vehicle to collide with Crouch who was driving eastbound on Thille St. Witnesses reported that southbound traffic on Victoria Ave. had a red light and west/eastbound traffic on Thille St. had a green light.

Based on statements from numerous witnesses and drivers, it was determined Guzman failed to stop for the red light and collided into Lande’s vehicle.

Guzman and the female juvenile passengers in her vehicle were transported by AMR ambulance to VCMC for treatment of injuries ranging from moderate to minor. Lande, Crouch and another female passenger in her vehicle were transported by AMR ambulance to St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard with minor injuries. None of the injuries sustained to any of the involved parties was life threatening.

Traffic on Victoria Ave. was delayed for approximately 45 minutes while the roadway was cleared of the involved vehicles and emergency equipment.
