The community is invited to attend two meetings in March and April to provide community feedback on medical marijuana regulations for the City of Ventura. The meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room at City Hall, 501 Poli Street Room 202, on the following dates:

  • Thursday, March 11
  • Thursday, April 1

Medical marijuana dispensaries, cooperatives and collectives are currently not permitted in the City of Ventura. Participants in the public engagement process will be asked to explore the various issues surrounding medical marijuana and provide feedback to City staff.

The first of two meetings, scheduled to take place Thursday, March 11, will review the current legal standards, detail the scope and set expectations for the public’s participation in decision-making, and provide an overview of issues and implications surrounding medical marijuana.

The second meeting will synthesize participants’ input and lead toward shaping policy options. Following these meetings, city staff will present options to the City Council.

All meetings are open to the public. For questions, please contact Anne Hallock, civic engagement division, 805-658-4739 or ahallock@cityofventura.net.
