Incident: Commercial Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property Arrest

Narrative:

On the above date and time, two citizens who where in the area of DW’s Country Café, heard an alarm sounding from the business. They noticed the side door window was smashed out, and a few moments later they saw the suspect run out of the business carrying a cash register with an undisclosed amount of cash in it then get in his vehicle and leave. 

After seeing this, the witnesses called 911 and officers were dispatched to the area. Within approximately five minutes, an officer located the suspect’s vehicle driving in the area of Johnson Drive and Crescent. The vehicle was stopped, and the suspect, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was detained while officers completed the initial investigation into the burglary. At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined the suspect was responsible for the burglary, and he was arrested.

Donovan is also the suspect in numerous other recent commercial and vehicle burglaries. Detectives assisted in the investigation and ultimately searched the suspect’s home in Ventura. During the search, additional stolen property was found from a recent vehicle burglary in the parking structure at Community Memorial Hospital. At the conclusion of the investigation, the suspect was booked into Ventura County Jail on the charges of Commercial Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property.
