Date/Time Occurred: July 25, 2010, 2:51 a.m.

Officer(s) Involved: Numerous Patrol Officers

Victim(s):  Seven Eleven

Suspect(s): Ricardo Garcia, 22 years old, Oxnard Resident

Report #: 10-9683

Narrative:

On the above date and time, after being refused the sale of beer about twenty minutes earlier, suspect Ricardo Garcia, entered the Seven Eleven Store with an aluminum bat. Garcia went to the locked beer cooler and smashed the glass door with the bat, reached inside and took an 18 pack of beer and fled the store to a waiting vehicle.

Witnesses in the area were able to direct responding officers to a residence in the 2200 block of Grand Avenue. As officers attempted to make contact with several subjects at the residence, a male subject fled and began jumping fences and running through yards in the area. Officers were able to set up a perimeter, and after a search of the area found the suspect Garcia, hiding on the roof of a nearby residence. Garcia was taken into custody and with the help of the Ventura City Fire Department, brought safely down from the roof, and booked into Ventura County Jail for the above listed charges.

While contacting the numerous subjects at the residence where the officers located the suspect vehicle, Linda Martinez, 22 years old, was located and arrested for outstanding warrants, and providing false information to a police officer.
