Narrative:

The Ventura Police Department has received three reports of child annoyance calls with the first occurring on November 2, 2011 and the last occurring on February 19, 2012. These incidents occurred between 1230 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., in the downtown and mid-town areas.

In each of the incidents the suspect approached high school ages juveniles who were walking alone. The suspect attempted to lure the juveniles into his vehicle in exchange for a ride or money.

The suspect was described as a male Hispanic in his mid 30’s with broken English. He was driving a pick up truck in each occurrence and may be employed in construction or gardening.

The Ventura Police Department wants to remind the public that if a stranger does approach your child tell them to remember the license plate number of the motor vehicle and to report this information immediately.

Don't assume it was nothing and discount what your child has to tell you. Call your local police and report any suspicious activity.

There may be additional victims who have not reported these types of crimes and they are urged to contact their local police department.
