Incident: Bear in Residential Yard

Location:   100 El Cerrito St.                                                                                      

Date/Time Occurred: July 25, 2010, 6:35 a.m.  

Officer(s) Involved:  Ventura Police Patrol Officers, Cal State Fish and Game, County Animal Contro    

Narrative:

A resident in the area of 100 Blk of El Cerrito Street reported seeing an adult bear in his rear yard at about 6:35 a.m., this morning. He said the animal appeared to be injured. 

It’s unknown if it’s the same bear that was hit by a motor vehicle on Blackburn Road (which is nearby) back on Thursday, July 16th. 

Presently, California State Fish and Game units are on scene with police and the bear is still huddled down in corner of a rear residential yard.
