Program Enrichment for After-school Kids

Overview:

PEAK is a partnership including the City of Ventura Community Services Department, the Ventura Unified School District and the Police Activities League (PAL). PEAK was formed in 2002 to develop and implement an inclusive after school program for elementary and middle school children serving 500 kids per year.

Mission:

Our mission is to provide a safe and supervised after school education, enrichment and recreation program for students.

Goals:

· Keep kids safe

· Improve academic achievement

· Give students choices and provide opportunities

· Provide recreational, cultural and enrichment activities

· Improve social development, self esteem and self worth

· Provide leadership and character development opportunities

Program Components:

· Nutritional snack – Junior Chef Program

· Academic homework tutorial provided by experienced and knowledgeable staff

· Enrichment activities include Arts, Music, Computers, Climbing Wall, Spelling Bee

· Sports and games include Martial Arts, Fitness and Fun, Sports Leagues through Westpark Community Center, Swim Lessons and Golf

· Lincoln Elementary

· Montalvo Elementary

· Portola Elementary

· Sheridan Way Elementary

· Westpark (serving Will Rogers and Sheridan Way Elementary)

PEAK Hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:30 – 5:30 pm

Wednesday 12:30 – 5:30 pm
