Ventura H2O - Water Conservation
The City of Ventura's water supply is a precious resource that requires care and concern. Our primary source of drinking water is groundwater from three groundwater basins and the Ventura River surface and subsurface system. The groundwater is treated at one of our three treatment facilities. Our other source of water is from the Casitas Municipal Water District (Lake Casitas).
Like the favored plant in the garden, effective water management should be a concern of all Venturans. With a little effort you can make water conservation a way of life, by locating and fixing leaks, choosing plants and trees which require a minimal water, and following other water saving tips that can save thousands of gallons every year.
