City of Ventura and California Association of Code Enforcement Officers Host July 11 and August 11 Workshop on Los Angeles Housing Department's Systematic Code Enforcement Program (SCEP)

The Building and Safety division oversees all phases of new building construction, perform a variety of inspections and provide code enforcement. The head of the division is the Building Official. Their offices are located within City Hall.
Building & Safety provides:
- Building permit plan check
- Permits issuance
- Building and Safety for new buildings, additions, tenant improvements, etc.
- Code Enforcement to support the enforcement of policies and programs within the Public Works, Community Development, Fire and Administrative Services Departments.
Additionally, Building and Safety maintains a historical
permit and plan archive of over 1 million construction documents. This
section enforces the California Construction Codes as amended by the City
during adoption.
