PEOPLE'S CHOICE VOTING
You be the judge! Click the People's Choice Voting link on the right side of the screen to view all photo submissions. Submissions are scored on a scale of one to five stars--simply highlight the stars under each submission to rate it. Five stars is the highest available rating for a photograph. In rating submissions take into account how well the photograph reflects Ventura's community, culture, and landscapes. Voters may vote only once for each photograph and are encouraged to cast votes for all submissions.
People's Choice voting will conclude on June 13. Winners will be announced on June 19 and will be featured in an exhibition at City Hall.

City of Ventura Photography Contest
Amateur and professional photographers of all ages! The City of Ventura Photography Contest - for its fifth anniversary - is going all digital and on-line! Now it's easier than ever to enter your best images of our city - simply upload your entries online by May 30 using the Online Entry Form. Use any digital device for submissions including cameras and mobile phones.

For category 5, showcase your favorite artwork in the City's collection - find a downloadable map of artwork locations at www.cityofventura.net/publicart and then tell us, in 50 words or less, how this work personally "speaks" to you. Paste essay into submission form on online application.
People's Choice
This exciting juried competition will also feature a People's Choice award, allowing you to vote for your favorite photo online between June 1 and June 13. Visit this website again in June to look at entires and to cast your vote.
Reception and Exhibit
The Mayor will honor winning entries at a special reception and exhibit at City Hall in July and selected images will be featured in citywide publication of print or electronic media with photo credit.
Photo Contest Rules & Guidelines
- Contest open to professional and amateur photographers of all ages
- An individual may win in no more than two categories
- Limited to six entries per person in any combination of categories
- Photos must be "recognizably Ventura" and taken in our city
- A completed on-line entry form/agreement must accompany submittals
- All entries must be uploaded to www.cityofventura.net/photocontest
- "I Love Public Art" entries must include an essay to be considered for awards
- Any photos or essays entered may be used in City print or electronic media
- All entries must be received by May 30
