Environmental Planning
As required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), passed by the California Legislature in 1970, the City of San Buenaventura conducts environmental review of public and private projects before they are heard for approval. The environmental documents produced by the City are provided to both decision makers and the public for their consideration and comment. These environmental documents include Environmental Impact Reports (EIR's) and Negative Declarations (ND's). The City's Local Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, Division 2R, Part 4, Chapter 2R.450 of the Municipal Code, specifies exactly how environmental review is carried out in San Buenaventura.
Included within these webpages are environmental documents (EIR's, MNDs, and NDs) that have been produced by the city, an overview of the environmental review process, and links to other relevant sites.
