General Municipal Elections
General municipal elections for the election of officers and for other purposes as the City Council may prescribe shall be held biennially on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year. The California Elections Code establishes the procedures by which municipal elections are conducted. The municipal elections are administered by the City Clerk's Office.
The City Council members serve four-year terms of office. The term expirations are staggered. Four terms of office expire in 2016 and three terms of office expire in 2018.
