City Clerk
The City Clerk's Office works with the City Council, City Manager, departments and divisions, and the public. The Department is responsible for overseeing the preparation of the agenda and minutes for the City Council and Redevelopment Agency, managing the City Council's official records, providing access to public records and information, processing documents to carry out the legislative actions of the City Council, administering the City's elections, assisting in the recruitment of residents to serve on various City Council advisory boards, commissions, and committees, and receiving liability claims.

Mabi Covarrubias Plisky has served as Ventura's City Clerk since September 2004, and is responsible for the administration and management of the City Clerk Division. Plisky's experience includes 12 years as the elected City Clerk in Oxnard, 5 years as the Ventura Deputy City Clerk, and 5 years as the City Clerk Services Manager for the City of Santa Barbara. Plisky was awarded the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation in April 2007 by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She is a native of Oxnard and is fluent in Spanish. |
