Workforce Development
Attracting and retaining business in Ventura and creating job opportunities is a major component of the City’s economic development activities. The City works with other agencies to provide employers and job seekers with services focused on education, training and job placement.
Workforce Recruitment
Ventura County Workforce Investment Board (WIB)
The Ventura County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) can meet employer workforce needs. The WIB offers a roster of comprehensive business services designed to assist employers in recruiting qualified employees. Through the WIB’s direct service providers, employers are offered a job posting service; candidate recruitment, screening and referral; testing and interviewing facilities; and subsidized customized employer-based training. The point of entry for employers is Ventura’s Job and Career Centers. These centers are listed below.
Workforce Training
In addition to the WIB, employee training is available through the Ventura Community College District and Ventura Unified School District. Through a consortium of educational institutions, both organizations provide a range of services including design and delivery of customized professional development classes and workshops. To learn more about the educational and training opportunities available through both districts, contact or visit one of Job and Career Centers listed below.
