Was the City able to submit a balanced budget?
Yes, because we must. The City Charter, our governing document, requires that the City Council approve a balanced budget by June 30 each year. As a result, City staff has identified cost reductions that met the expected decrease in revenue to balance the budget by the beginning of our new fiscal year this past July 1, 2011.
